As is normal every January, some new laws were introduced with the ringing in of 2024. Another law that went into effect this month pertains to street racing. The new law imposes tougher penalties for street racing. For example, those caught can have their car impounded for 72 hours on the first offense and forfeited on the second offense. Also, those who aid and abet street racing can also be charged as an accomplice.
