Last week a Bill was passed by the Washington State House of Representatives that will allow the Washington State Patrol (WSP) to destroy firearms they confiscate during criminal investigations. This authority now aligns with the authority other Washington State law enforcement agencies have in in their arsenal (no pun intended). The Bill now moves to the Senate. We shall soon see their position. In a similar sign of ‘gun control’ efforts in-and-around Washington, the Senate Law and Justice Committee approved a bill that limits the size of firearm magazines to 10 bullets. This - it is thought - will limit the mass carnage caused by high capacity magazines. As with everything – time will tell. No doubt there will continue to be battles waged between those who are staunch gun right advocates and those who are firmly in favor of gun control. Is there a neutral ground ... doubtful, very doubtful.
