Officers can sometimes come upon some crazy situations when pulling a driver over for DUI. The proof is in the pudding, as they say … or in one recent DUI stop in Pennsylvania … the proof was in the trunk – a live deer! Say what??
The Newberry Township officer stopped the vehicle last week. The driver was thought to be under the influence of alcohol. After the stop, the officer noticed a deer in the back of the car. The driver and passenger of the car told the officer that they hit the deer and placed it in the trunk, thinking it was dead. Eventually they came realize that the deer was - in fact - alive, but they elected to keep driving with it kicking around in the trunk. A video of the deer hopping out of the vehicle is actually on the Newberry Township Police Department's YouTube page. Visions of the movie Tommy Boy come to mind anyone? Sheesh.
